- The minimum embedment depth for Tapcon® concrete screws is 1 inch.
- The maximum embedment depth should not exceed 1-3/4 inches.
- It's important to ensure that the hole drilled for the screw is at least 1/4” to 1/2” deeper than the intended embedment of the screw to allow space for dust created during the drilling process.
- When selecting the length of a Tapcon® screw, add the thickness of the material to be fastened to the minimum embedment depth.
- For safe and effective installation, it is recommended to use a hammer drill when drilling into concrete, brick, or block.
